All about Tim Peake and Space!

Our influential person this week is the British astronaut Tim Peake. Well done for sharing facts about him for homework. You can view them here.

This week we have been reading and writing about the planets of the Solar System:

We used chalk, pastels, glitter and collage to create these amazing Space pictures:

We learnt that astronauts eat wraps in Space because bread is too crumbly!
Here is a video of astronaut Chris Hadfield making a tasty tortilla snack!

Tim Peake must’ve liked the look of our tortillas, as he gave us a virtual thumbs up on our Twitter page!

We have also been using positional language to describe where planets, spaceships and aliens are!

Where is Tinkerbell?

This week Tinkerbell has been teaching us about position and direction in our maths lessons. Here is the vocabulary we’ve been using:

We practised using prepositions and recorded our work using Book Creator on the iPads:

We also explored whole and half turns and completed an obstacle course:

Freddie and the Fairy

After an exciting week of fairy visits, we decided that we had enjoyed the book “Freddie and the Fairy” so much that we would like to read you our own versions of the story. We used Book Creator to record our stories. We hope you enjoy listening to them!

Firework Poems

We have been working very hard writing firework poems. We used Book Creator on the iPad to record them.

What do you think?
